Today was an amazing day. My family is so precious to me, my mother in particular. She has sacrificed so much over the years and worked hard to provide for our family (so has my dad- but his day will come in June). I really just enjoyed spending time with all of my family (aunts, uncles, cousins, grandparents included) this weekend. It was wonderful.
In thinking of today, I was reminded of all of the simple things I love and couldn't live without (well push come to shove, of course I could, but they make my life much better and I'd hate to go without them)...so here's a small list:
1. Saturday morning- SLEEPING LATE! to set no alarm and just get up whenever you happen to awake..even if you wake up like you normally would, look at your phone, check the time, then realize you can go back to sleep : i love it
2. The inventor of bobby pins OR i guess bobby pins themselves- I actually googled this one. And sites say different things. Whoever did it was a genius. It'd be interesting to know how many I will go through in my life time.
3. Thursday nights- whether staying in with a glass of wine to watch Grey's and Private Practice or setting the tevo to record and going out. .. always something to look forward to.
4. Leggings- I wear them year round. Give me a big t shirt, and I'm good to go. They're sooo comfortable.
5. Bubble baths- I think this is a given for any girl.
6. Boiled peanuts- is and will always be my favorite food. I could live off of them I do believe if I ever had to.
7. Feel good music- this can range from Beast of Burden by the Rolling Stones to Just Dance by Lady Gaga to Corey Smith's If I could do it again, I'd do it the same.. love it all
8. Nike shorts- Let's be realistic. They are worth the price you pay. Those built in underwear definitely help in holding in the goods. Also, the assortment of colors and quality...loove em
9. My small town- we are like a family, literally. Everyone knows everyone, and we all look out for each other. I love the name, deepstep. I love the dirt roads and the chalk holes. It took time for me to see just how great of a place it truly was (going to college was definitely a wake up call). I love coming home, being home, and seeing everyone. And if my job and eventual spouse are willing, i would love to eventually live here.
10. BRAVO and Oxygen- The Real Housewives (all of them)= hysterical. The Top Chefs (all of them)= intense. Law and Order reruns (all of them)= perfect for a rainy day. Tori and Dean (they're so themselves) = my favorite. Snapped (how crazy are these women?) = sooo interesting... I could go on and on!!
Life is good. Life is good.
